Keeping accurate financial records is essential for any successful business; however, many small business owners are often too busy running the day-to-day operations they tend not to devote the necessary attention to bookkeeping. Some fail to record financial transactions properly and in a timely manner. Some ignore it completely until tax time.

This workshop will help you identify your bookkeeping needs and resources.
 In this introduction workshop. participants will learn:

  • the need or purpose of bookkeeping 
  • bookkeeping and accounting terms 
  • recognition and use of bookkeeping records and reports 
  • learning/understanding the process of entering transactions 
  • learning/understanding the posting of information to the reports

 

Facilitator

Lise Mazerolle

Lise Mazerolle is a seasoned finance professional with nearly 15 years of experience in accounting, tax, and advisory services. She currently serves as a financial controller for a construction contractor and previously held the same role in a fish processing plant. A former business owner, she provided financial services to local entrepreneurs and now coaches at Startup Academy Inc. She has served on numerous professional and community committees and is bilingual, holding both BAA and MBA degrees. She was a CA/CPA from 2004 to 2023 and is proficient with a range of accounting tools and software.
